As a member of the group in Breckenridge about which Sharon writes, I can attest to the stellar service and ambiance of both establishments: Ridge Street Wine and Hearthstone. I especially enjoyed the Annabella Cab with a wonderful aged cheddar. At 5:30 PM when we all convened after a day on the slopes, we had no plans. By 6:30 PM we had dinner reservations secured, and had made the serendipidous discovery of Ridge Street Wines. What a perfect evening!

Want to try a wine that goes great with both Pizza and Hamburgers? Try the Piccolo Tesoro Sparkling Rose Moscato. It's so good, that The Counter (gourmet burgers) in Alpharetta serves it on their menu!

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Sunday happens to be the ONE night per week that I want to have great wine with a special dinner.
Now, I can change my mind about what I'm going to serve, and STILL be able to run out and purchase the right wine to go with it! :)

Hey Joe,
Thanks for the call-out. The way the scoring ran, you got a LOT of points for identifying the Varietal and Appellation/Region, not so much for identifying Alcohol, Old/New World, or Country. Thus, if you nail two wines, like Rob Van Leer did on the first round of three wines, then you blow everyone else out of the water! At that point, scores were removed, and we went into the second round, then the third round. It was a lot of fun, but nerve-racking being "on-stage" with difficult wines. McNeill did NOT have like a Napa Cab or Oregon Pinot, as you probably read--it was freaky stuff like Bandol and Bonnezeaux. On the final flight, between Ryan and Rob, neither identified the two wines, but Ryan called the alcohol on one wine, thus giving him another 5 points to carry the round. It was very close.

We'll do this again next year as the guests loved it.
