On Friday I had
time to hit the local hot-spot "Poor-Boy Lloyds" for shrimp
poor boys and a local favorite, deer sausage. Nothing like a light
lunch. |
Friday's wine dinner featured the
talents of local fave Chef John Folse and coastal sensation Tim Creehan,
along with wines from Diageo. |
The wine dinner was held in the
"old Governor's Mansion," which was built for the legendary
Huey Long during his tenure as the state's Governor. |
Mr. Kahn catches up with old friends
and makes some new ones. |

Saturday Grand Tasting:
The grounds of the "old State Capital" were transformed
into a festival. The stained-glass ceiling inside is impressive. |
Atlanta Wine School did three wine
seminars that day; the first including matched pairings from local
fave Bayou Bistro. |
An overhead view of part of the
festival grounds with the Mississippi River right next door. |
Chef Tim Creehan did two cooking
demonstrations in between the wine seminars. Dem's some big ribeyes
he's cooking! |

Sunday Jazz Brunch:
Stacy & Alan Simon take in some mimosas amidst 10 of Baton Rouge's
finest restaurants providing rich, savory samples. |
What was the most popular bubbly
during the Jazz Brunch? A sparkling raspberry wine from California.
Delicious! |

An over-worked crew let's off some
steam at Mr. Kahn's house on Saturday night. |
